  • Trek Duration: Approximately 3 to 4 hours one way, depending on pace and weather conditions.

  • Best Time to Visit: June to February. The monsoon months (June to September) bring lush greenery, while the post-monsoon period offers clear skies and pleasant temperatures.

  • Iconic Rock-Cut Steps: The ascent involves approximately 117 steep, narrow, and winding steps, some nearly vertical. These steps are divided into three sections

    • Lower Section: 60 steps with moderate steepness.

    • Middle Section: 30 steps with increased steepness

    • Upper Section: 27 steps that are extremely steep and narrow. 

  • Panoramic Views: From the summit, enjoy 360-degree views of the Sahyadri range, including nearby forts like Basgad, Brahmagiri, and Anjaneri.

    • From Mumbai: Take a local train to Kasara. From Kasara, hire a jeep to Khodala and then a shared taxi to Nirgudpada.

    • From Nashik: Board a bus to Trimbakeshwar and then a cab to Nirgudpada.

  • By Road:

    • From Mumbai: Drive via Kasara or Igatpuri.

    • From Nashik: Drive via Trimbakeshwar.
